Important Dates for Next Steps in SFUSD Enrollment

On May 12, 2017, the SFUSD will mail the Round 2 assignment letters to all families who submitted an application.

Round 2

If you receive an assignment to one of the schools you requested in Round 2, then register at the school by May 24, 2017. If you do not receive a new assignment, then you will remain registered at your Round 1 school, as long as you registered at the school before the deadline. Whether or not you receive a new assignment in Round 2, you are welcome to submit a Round 3 application.

Wait Pools (Rounds 3 through 5)

Round 3 begins the wait pool process, and you may request placement at one school. Submit your application by May 24, 2017.

If you do not receive your requested assignment in Round 3, your application will stay active through Rounds 4 and 5. You can change your requested school or cancel your wait pool request if you change your mind after Round 3.

  • May 24: Deadline to submit your Round 3 application at the EPC.

  • June 9: Round 3 wait pool notification letters are mailed.

  • June 13: Wait pool numbers are posted here.

  • June 14: Available School Assignment Period (ASAP) begins.

  • July 14: Wait pool numbers are posted here.

  • July 21: Deadline to submit Round 4 applications or to change wait pool requests.

  • August 4: Round 4 wait pool notification letters are mailed.

  • August 8: Wait pool numbers are posted here.

  • August 11: Deadline to submit Round 5 applications or to change wait pool requests.

  • August 21: First day of school for the 2017-2018 school year.

  • August 25: Round 5 notifications begin, by phone and by mail.

  • September 1: Wait pools are dissolved.

  • September 5: The No Transfer Period begins.
