PPS-SF Welcomes Marlon Murcia, Our New Senior Community Outreach and Information's System Analyst

Hello PPS-SF community,

PPS-SF is excited to announce the newest addition to our team, Community Outreach and Information System Analyst Marlon Murcia. Marlon joins our PPS-SF team with an extraordinary passion for math and technology. A City of San Francisco Community College alumni and former public school attendee, Marlon is dedicated to creating community relations to assist Parents for Public School here in SF.

We sat down with Marlon for a Q&A and invite you see for yourself his passion and excitement for his new role here PPS-SF in the future.

Q: Why did you chose to join PPS-SF?

Marlon: I chose to join PPS-SF so that I could serve in the role as community outreach associate for the Spanish speaking community. I really felt like my comprehensive knowledge of the community, skills in customer service, and my awareness around the many different problems affecting the community could really help PPS-SF reach its goals to help families navigate the SFUSD system.

Q: Why are you passionate about San Francisco Public Schools?

Marlon: I feel as though public schools are characterized negatively but the truth is that they are an amazing resource to have access to.

In fact, one of the main reasons why I am so passionate is because I was helped immensely during high school by my principal Daniel Allen (and many other folks too). If it was not for his care I don't know where I would be academically in high school. I really want to show this to families looking to put their children into school in San Francisco who might have a negative view or just have no idea how to navigate the system.

Q: What are you most excited for?

Marlon: After learning about the new model and direction that PPS-SF is working towards I am very eager and excited to begin using the system as well as helping its development.

Please join us with a warm welcome to Marlon for joining our PPS-SF team!

Warmly,

The PPS-SF team
