Webinar: A Conversation with Zaretta Hammond "Taking the Distance Out of the Learning"

We are excited to co-host a conversation with national education consultant and literacy expert Zaretta Hammond geared towards providing information to both families and educators to support the emotional and cognitive needs of our students and find flexible and creative ways to create rich learning experiences for all of our diverse learners outside of the in-person classroom setting.

Ms. Hammond is a San Francisco native and author of the book: Culturally Responsive Teaching and the Brain: Promoting Authentic Engagement and Rigor for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Students. She is a former high school and community college expository writing instructor. She holds a Master’s in Education in English Education, with a concentration in Writing. She is passionate about the intersectionality of equity, literacy, and culturally responsive teaching.

Ms. Hammond will be interviewed by SFUSD Board of Education Commissioner Stevon Cook and there will be an opportunity for participant Q&A.
