Dear PPS-SF Champion,

I hope this message finds you well. Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco (PPSSF) is at a pivotal point in our organization’s history, and we need your support. I am reaching out today to share exciting news about our organization and to invite you to join us in our fight to ensuring high-quality public education for every child in San Francisco.

PPSSF has been a cornerstone in San Francisco for more than two decades, providing crucial education advocacy, facilitating community engagement, and delivering workshops tailored to the cultural and linguistic needs of diverse communities including African American, Latino, Chinese, Samoan, and Arabic families. We equip parents with the skills needed to effectively support our children’s education and engage with school systems and community leaders.

Founded in 1999, our chapter is embarking on a 25th Anniversary Celebration. To commemorate this momentous occasion, we are launching our Silver Jubilee Circle and are inviting you to become one of our founding members. Silver Jubilee Circle members will donate $1,000 to the organization and in return receive an array of benefits, including:

  • Marketing exposure to thousands in PPSSF’s network through social media posts and newsletters

  • Access to meet with me (PSSF Executive Director, Vanessa Danielle Marrero) every quarter to discuss and hear your feedback and thoughts about the work for the future.

  • Name and/or company logo listed on agency website as Silver Jubilee Circle member.

  • Silver Jubilee Circle Founders Gift

This request is met with an amount of urgency as even with our long history of success and deep community impact, our organization faces financial challenges that threaten our ability to continue our programs. Recent, unexpected shifts in government funding have put our operations at risk right when our services are most needed.

By becoming a founding member of our Silver Jubilee Circle, you will play a vital role in helping PPSSF continue our vital community work and ensure the success of two new initiatives. As an organization, we are continually seeking to innovate and improve the resources we offer to the community. We are excited to announce these initiatives aimed at empowering families and enhancing their engagement with the public education system:

  1. Helpdesk for Students and Parents: This dedicated resource will provide real-time assistance and support, helping families navigate the education system more effectively, resolve concerns promptly, and access critical information when they need it.

  1. Central Data Dashboard: An innovative platform that will aggregate and display key educational metrics and data, enhancing transparency and enabling parents to make informed decisions about their children's education.

If you would like more information or have questions, I would love to set up a call to discuss it further. If you are interested in joining us as a Silver Jubilee Circle member, please visit  https://donorbox.org/silver-jubilee-circle to donate directly online. Every contribution (no matter the amount) helps us continue our fight for educational equity and will help ensure the long-term success of the organization and our impact.

We appreciate your consideration and commitment to fostering educational excellence in San Francisco Public Schools.

Warm regards,

Vanessa Danielle Marrero MSW
