San Francisco, Stop Settling for Policy Band-Aids While Our Schools Remain Systemically Under-Resourced

graphic design slide featuring a grayscale photo of a hand reaching upward against a dark background, overlaid with yellow text reading "STOP SETTLING FOR POLICY BAND-AIDS". Below, blue outlined text reads "FUNDAMENTAL RIGHT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION". In the top-left corner are four logos for Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco in English, Spanish, and Chinese.

San Francisco, for far too long, district governance leaders has relied on short-term fixes, backroom political compromise, and kicked-can decisions. Our children, educators, and public school families don't need another hollow promise—they need bold, unapologetic leadership that puts long-term sustainability and equitable access first.

At Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco (PPS-SF), we are calling out every single community leader, elected official, and candidate across San Francisco. It is time to prove where you actually stand. No more talking points. No more status-quo answers.

Our voice, our vote, and our trust must be earned by what you actually do.

Our Non-Negotiable Accountability Questions

We are asking our community to demand answers to four critical questions before casting a vote or granting support:

  1. Stop the Band-Aids: How will you fix SFUSD’s structural budget deficit for good—without sacrificing classroom funding, cutting critical programs, or relying on temporary emergency reserves?

  2. Power to Families, Not Bureaucracy: How will you ensure family agency directly dictates enrollment pathways and major district operations instead of treating parent voices like an afterthought?

  3. Stand Up for Educators: What concrete, immediate steps will you enforce to retain and protect our teachers so our classrooms aren't left stranded and understaffed?

  4. Uncompromising Oversight: Will you aggressively hold district leadership accountable to hard, measurable performance metrics—or will you stay silent and rubber-stamp failure?

It’s time to separate the true champions of our children from those just playing politics.
