Tips for Back to School

Tips for back to schools “Our Children Our Schools”

Back to school prep already? While the stores are filling up with school supplies, we hope you are still enjoyed getting sand and sea water between your toes, gazing up at the beautiful redwood trees or just on a warm summer evening, and your mind drifts to your children and the coming year, here are some helpful tips to ensure your family starts out strong in the new school year.

  • Visit the dollar store or other shops for some retail therapy to buy supplies for your child. If you can support your child’s teacher and classroom, you may want to consider also buying supplies for them.

  • Introduce yourself and connect your child with their teacher and share with them 5 pointers in supporting your child.

  • When you know your child’s elementary school classroom or middle/high school classrooms, take some time to visit the school with your child so they can walk through their routine of the school day and familiarize themselves with any changes that are happening to the school facility over the summer.

  • Watch out for SFUSD Welcome Back messages with important activities and information about grade-level schedules.

Within all of these exciting activities and special moments with your child, please reach out to Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco if you have any questions, want to learn more about the support programs we offer, or would like assistance connecting with your child’s school. We look forward to hearing from you at info@ppssf.org.
