CAA was founded in 1969 to protect the civil and political rights of Chinese Americans and advance multiracial democracy in the United States. Today, CAA is a progressive voice in and on behalf of the broader Asian and Pacific American community. We advocate for systemic change that remedies racial injustice, ensures equal opportunities for communities of color, reduces language barriers, and promotes immigrant rights.

First 5 San Francisco, established in 2000, is part of the statewide First 5 California movement to assist public agencies, non-profit organizations and families in supporting early education, pediatric healthcare, family support and systems change.

Our Family Coalition - www.ourfamily.org
Our Family Coalition (OFC) promotes the civil rights and well being of Bay Area families with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parents and prospective parents through education, advocacy, social networking, and grassroots community organizing. The PAC's mission is to ensure that parent voices are included in Board of Education policy discussions. The PAC actively reaches out to hear parent concerns, and communicates directly with school board commissioners, SFUSD staff, and community partners to represent issues important to families in our public schools. The PAC strives to ensure that our membership reflects the rich diversity of our city's public schools; we place a high priority on reaching out to communities that historically have not been involved in shaping education policy.

The San Francisco Education Fund is dedicated to promoting excellent and equitable outcomes for San Francisco public school students so they can reach their full potential. Specifically, we seek to increase the number of students who graduate from high school ready for college, meaningful work, and active participation in society.

Since 1979, the Ed Fund has offered programs that encourage teacher innovation and creativity, increase the range of educational opportunities available to students, and promote collaboration between schools and community-based organizations. Our current programs are: Leadership and Professional Development Grants; Teachers Leadership Institute; Peer Resources; and Public Engagement Initiative. San Francisco Head Start/Early Start provides early childhood education and other services to low income children and families in San Francisco through its center-based and home-based programs as well as through the delegate and partner agencies with which it works.

San Francisco School Volunteers (SFSV) is the largest source of volunteers for San Francisco public schools.  Each year we recruit and train more than 1,400 volunteers and place them in a diversity of roles in schools across the district.  Established in 1963, SFSV’s singular focus on serving the public schools has made it an integral part of the city’s education system.

Support for Families - www.supportforfamilies.org
Support for Families, and its resource center, Open Gate, are an invaluable local resource for families of children with disabilities. They offer monthly IEP trainings, a book and toy lending library, support groups, a parent mentor program and a very popular resource fair every spring. Open Gate also maintains a help line at 920-5040.

Wu Yee Children's Services' mission is to promote the healthy development of children and families by providing high quality, culturally and linguistically appropriate children and family support services.
