Hoover MS Science Fair and Creative Arts Exhibit
The Annual Hoover Science Fair and Creative Arts Exhibit will be on display in the auditorium starting at 6:00pm.
We will announce the Hoover Science Fair winners at 7:15pm. The winners (per grade) will go on to compete at the San Francisco County level Science Fair held at the Randall Museum.

James Lick MS Science Fair
The science fair is one of the biggest events at James Lick. All projects are displayed in the gym, food sales coordinated by the PTSA in the locker room breezeway.
The students stand beside their projects and explain them to those who visit their area. The teachers present special awards to the best projects, which then go on to the City-wide Science Fair held at the Randall Museum.

Healthy, savory snacks and simple grab and go items like popcorn, trail mix, mini pizzas, sandwiches, quesadillas and fruit will be available for purchase.

Sunset ES Annual Afro-Caribbean Program
Afro-Caribbean Program
Every year, one of the fifth-grade classes at Sunset Elementary studies the Afro-Caribbean culture and performs for the entire school through dance, song and instrumental music. They teach younger students about the culture and the meaning of the performance.

Alamo's Grandparents' Day and Talent Show will take place this Friday at Alamo. All families and friends are welcome. Here are the details:
  • Grandparents' Day begins at 1:30pm and includes a performance from the Alamo Friendship Chorus.
  • The Talent Show begins at 3:00pm and will include 25 performers from all grade levels.

"Celebrating Excellency in Education is the #1 Priority in the African American Community"

Your submission may include poems or speeches of famous African American authors that reflect challenges and commitments. Original speeches may be written on the following subject: African American Youth Celebrating Black Women.

Annual MATHCOUNTS Competition
Middle school students from all over San Francisco, including 66 from SFUSD,, will gather once again to compete in the annual all-day MATHCOUNTS competition as they solve problems using critical-thinking and math skills. The day includes written and oral rounds, individual and team challenges, and includes students from both public and private schools.

The afternoon session, which starts at 1:30 pm, is when the top 16 from the morning session are chosen to perform in elimination rounds with buzzers and all is open to the public. This is then followed by the awards ceremony. Last year, SFUSD student teams swept the city by taking first, second, third, fifth, and seventh place.

A free conference for families of children with disabilities, the professionals who work with them, and the community at large. All services and events are free of charge to encourage participation by all families. With the demand for services being greater than ever, your donations make this possible.

You may register for workshops on the day of the conference from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Harrison Street or Folsom Street Registration Tables.

Please note that there is no drop-in care giving available for children. Limited childcare is available with advance registration.
