Next Steps
The PPS-SF Next Steps for Parents: Leadership Training is a series of workshops which empower parents to become leaders in education. This training program was derived from the Bay Area Parent Leadership Action Network (PLAN) PLAN to LEAD Training of the Trainers program, which provides training, activities and coaching to help parent-based organizations develop and organize parent leadership and action on education issues.
The PPS-SF Next Steps for Parents: Leadership Training is available in English, Spanish and Chinese. It promotes parent involvement in schools according to parents’ current experience level, helps them improve their knowledge and skills, and empowers them to take action as leaders in the schools and the district. PPS-SF supports the participants in our training program by providing forums for them to use their knowledge, connecting them with other parents doing the same work, and providing training for leadership opportunities.
