Volunteer for PPS-SF

Volunteers are a vital part of helping us build our capacity to serve San Francisco public school students and their families.

Volunteering for the PPS-SF Parent Network can further build your knowledge of public schools, increase your confidence and introduce you to more parents like you!  As a parent-to-parent network, we rely on the experience and skills that parents bring to our events and training.  Please contact us at info@ppssf.org to sign up to volunteer today!

Pre-K to 3rd Grade Planning Summit

5 volunteers are needed to help with general tasks - check in, ushering, assisting in the breakout rooms, etc.

School Board President Norman Yee is presenting an opportunity to hear community voices at his upcoming summit:
"Looking Back, Moving Forward": A Pre-K to 3rd grade Planning Summit
Saturday, February 25th, 8:30-12:30 @ Everett Middle School
(Look for the flyer to get posted in the files section)

This is an opportunity to provide your input and hear other's thoughts about what it means to have prekindergarten through third grade programs working together. Ralph Smith, Senior VP of The Annie E Casey Foundation will be speaking about grade level reading.

Please email Annie at annie@ppssf.org if you are able to help - this is a great opportunity for parents to engage in the conversation!

Office Support

Help with mailings, answering phones, filing, making copies, and supporting  the PPS staff during the busy school year!

Data Entry

Assist us with one of our most critical functions:  data entry!  It’s just a few hours a week and you can set your own schedule.

Event Volunteer

Help us publicize and plan large events. Help is also needed for prep, set-up and clean-up for events. Please contact us at info@ppssf.org for more information.

PPS-SF School Ambassador

Do you love your school? Become a School Ambassador and connect with prospective parents to tell them what makes your school great. Share your journey as a public school parent.  Being a School Ambassador also exposes you to ideas and tips to help you market your school through the PPS-SF Network.

PPS-SF Enrollment Coach (between September and December)

Now that you’ve been through the enrollment process, help us get the word out to incoming parents this year!  Get trained and become a PPS-SF Enrollment Coach to help "coach" prospective parents through the enrollment process and finding a school. Training is a three step process and includes 1) attending a 2 hour information session, 2) shadowing our staff at an enrollment presentation and 3) Co-leading an enrollment presentation with one of PPS-SF staff.
