PPS-SF Position on Prop H Funding:
Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco (PPS-SF) has been a strong supporter of Proposition H since its inception, working to secure its passage and helping community members understand its structure and application. Because the children we care for are the direct recipients of the City's support via Proposition H, we are vitally aware of how significant those contributions are and what a difference they are already making for children in our schools. The value of Proposition H support is that no matter what form it comes in, either monies or in-kind services, it represents additional, new support to the schools from the City. Cash, expansions of existing programs to new sites, entirely new programs--all of these are of great benefit to our children. To that end, PPS encourages all involved in discussions over future Proposition H contributions to assert and ensure that such contributions are new.
