PPS-SF Staff is focused on supporting and reaching out to all San Francisco parents.

Programs

Parents for Public Schools of San Francisco provides support, training and networking opportunities for parents by operating two programs: GoPublic! and Building Education Together. PPS-SF supports all families in San Francisco through our trilingual outreach staff.

GoPublic! Program

The PPS-SF GoPublic! Program is increasing enrollment and diversity in SFUSD schools. We educate parents about public school options and the enrollment process through our parent-to-parent network, communications and events. We provide information, support and guidance at enrollment events and preschools and with one-to-one counseling. Through the PPS-SF Parent Ambassador Network and the Enrollment Coach programs, prospective parents gain a personal insight into public schools by connecting with current public school parents.

Building Education Together

Once enrolled, PPS-SF supports parents through the Building Education Together program. We provide support and training for K-12 public school parents through our tri-lingual outreach staff, as well as through our language- and culturally-specific Parent Clubs and Next Step Leadership Training.

We provide opportunities for parents to network across the school district to share resources and best practices to support all public schools. Our newest effort, “School Governance for Parents” is an 8-part training program for School Site Councils. It was presented at the Parent Convention in Fall 2007 and School Site Council Summit in January 2008. Learn more about this training series.
